We Build the Roads Egypt Runs On

For three decades, Al Zahraa General Contracting has turned national infrastructure plans into asphalt, concrete and steel — delivering highways, bridges and regional corridors for Egypt's ministries and public authorities.

02 Who We Are

Three decades of building Egypt's connective tissue

Al Zahraa General Contracting, Import & Export Company was founded in 1995 and has operated without interruption in Egypt's heavy-civil sector ever since. Our specialisation has never drifted: roads, bridges and the earthworks, drainage and structural works that carry them.

That focus is deliberate. Road and bridge work is unforgiving — it is measured in compaction density, layer thickness, bearing capacity and the ability to keep a corridor moving while you rebuild it. Companies that try to do everything rarely do this well. We have spent thirty years doing one thing, in one country, under the supervision of the authorities that set its standards.

Today Al Zahraa works as a main contractor on national corridors, regional connections and municipal road programmes, executing under the technical supervision of the Ministry of Housing, the Ministry of Transport and the Armed Forces Engineering Authority.

A message from our Chairman

Eng. Hesham Zidan Chairman & Founder, Al Zahraa Construction Company

From the establishment of Al Zahraa Construction Company in 1995 until today, we have stood by the principles of discipline, technical excellence, and integrity. These values have guided our journey and shaped every project we've delivered. Our mission has always been to contribute meaningfully to Egypt's construction sector and to build lasting partnerships through quality, reliability, and trust.

With over three decades of leadership in Egypt's construction industry, I take pride in seeing Al Zahraa grow into a trusted name known for its consistent performance and strong client relationships. We remain committed to delivering high-impact projects across roads, bridges, and civil works — while setting benchmarks in execution, safety, and sustainability.

Regional Ring Road

The Regional Ring Road is the kind of project that defines a contractor. A corridor of this class carries freight between governorates, absorbs traffic that would otherwise cross Greater Cairo, and cannot be closed while it is upgraded. Al Zahraa's scope covered earthworks, sub-base and base course, asphalt layers and associated structures, executed in phases so traffic kept moving throughout.

08 Our Direction

Vision & mission

The long view that guides every corridor we take on.

Vision

To position Al Zahraa General Contracting, Import and Export Company as a leading entity in contracting and infrastructure in the Middle East — delivering innovative, advanced solutions that improve quality of life and support sustainable development across every project phase.

Mission

To provide exceptional contracting services defined by quality, efficiency and innovation, while adhering to international standards — and to earn public confidence through integrated solutions that support community growth and development.

09 Why Al Zahraa

What thirty years of continuous operation actually buys you

  • A single specialisation

Roads and bridges, since 1995. No pivot into unrelated sectors, no learning on your project.

  • Authority-grade documentation

We execute to ministry and authority specification, with the inspection records to prove it at every hold point.

  • An owned fleet

Pavers, rollers, graders and haulage under our own maintenance regime, so programme does not depend on a rental market.

  • Traffic-live execution

Phasing and diversion planning that lets a corridor stay open while it is being rebuilt.

  • In-house engineering

Setting-out, levels, layer design review and quality control handled by our own engineers, not outsourced.

  • Institutional continuity

The same leadership, the same standards and the same client relationships across three decades.

10 Capability in the Field

From subgrade to surface course

A road is a stack of decisions. Subgrade preparation determines whether the corridor holds its level after the first heavy season. Sub-base and base course gradation determine load distribution. Asphalt temperature at laydown and roller pattern determine surface life. Al Zahraa controls that stack in-house — our own crews, our own plant, our own quality records — which is why our corridors are still carrying load years after handover.

  • Sub-base and base course
  • Asphalt binder and wearing courses
  • Bridge substructure & superstructure
  • Drainage, culverts and safety furniture

11 Plant & Machinery

A fleet that keeps programme in our hands

Rented plant arrives when it arrives. Owned plant arrives when the programme says it should. Al Zahraa runs and maintains its own fleet across every stage of road and bridge delivery.

12 The People Behind It

Engineers, operators and crews

Equipment does not lay a road. People who have laid a hundred of them do.

13 Quality & Safety

Standards that survive inspection

  1. 01

    Quality control

Material testing and layer-by-layer verification against authority specification, documented at every hold point.

  2. 02

    Site safety

PPE discipline, traffic-management plans and toolbox briefings on every active front.

  3. 03

    Environmental care

Dust suppression, controlled material handling and responsible disposal of milled and surplus material.

  4. 04

    Sustainable delivery

Longer-life pavement design and reuse of suitable material to reduce haulage and waste.

14 Who We Work With
